Voter Guides
__________________________________________________________________________________

The concept of voting is simple- one person, one vote. Unfortunately, in reality the process isn’t always so easy.  Regulations change from state to state. Colorado voters are regulated by a litany of rules and policies, from a variety of sources such as the United States Constitution, federal election rules, the Colorado Constitution, state statues, and state election rules. Thus, navigating one’s way through the voting process can often be a convoluted procedure, especially for first-time voters.

However, in order to avoid the mishaps of the 2006 and 2008 elections, including voter purging, misinformation about eligibility, and confusion about specific rules, we offer these accurate and reader-friendly guides to the voting process.

IIn light of misinformation given to college students about their eligibility in the 2008 general election, we have put together a College Voting Guide. In Colorado, college students can choose between remaining in their hometown precinct, or reregistering in their school’s precinct. This guide spans the voting process and covers deadlines and locations of when and where to vote.
