| Rights Project for Teens Award |
 |
The purpose of the Rights Project for Teens (RPT) is
to give high school students an opportunity to express their personal views on civil liberties, the Bill of Rights, or a specific right guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.
Students are invited to express themselves in any print journalistic format; an editorial or investigative reporting piece, B/W photo essay, B/W political cartoon or strip.
Entries will be judged in terms of clarity, impassioned voice and originality. Professional writers, cartoonists, teachers and community leaders judge the entries.
Each year cash awards are given to the winners and to their ACLU club, if there is one, or classroom teacher. Each winner and two guests are invited to the ACLU of Colorado Annual Meeting held in the first quarter of the year. The teachers of the winning students and a guest are invited as well.
RPT is a wonderful opportunity for students to express themselves and win cash awards. It also looks great on the college applications!
