“Only the educated are free.” – Epictetus (55 C.E. – 135 C.E.)
A main goal of the ACLU Foundation of Colorado is to educate members of the public about their rights and freedoms. Emphasis is placed on issues that affect our day-to-day lives. The educational programs of ACLU-CO include a comprehensive Speakers Bureau, which sends speakers to groups that have requested more information on the ACLU and about their rights. Our Young Professionals Group offers monthly evening events specifically designed to inform and engage busy professionals aged 25-45.
There is also a youth program, which helps to educate our next generation of their liberties and rights and the ways that they can protect them. In addition, ACLU-CO has an awards program, honoring members of the Colorado community for their contributions in helping to protect our rights and freedoms. Finally, there are two awards for high school students and teenagers, encouraging our future to get involved NOW.
We also provide a listing of basic rights and information, accessible both online and in a nationally printed brochure. Please feel free to use our links/resources page to find additional information on your rights and freedoms.
