The Michigan Education Association (MEA) is a self-governing education association, representing more than 147,000 teachers, faculty and education support staff throughout the state.

People For The American Way
People For the American Way organizes and mobilizes Americans to fight for fairness, justice, civil rights and the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution. PFAW lobbies for progressive legislation and helps to build communities of activists.

Public Agenda
Public Agenda is a nonpartisan, nonprofit public opinion research and citizen education organization based in New York City. It was founded in 1975 by social scientist and author Daniel Yankelovich and former Secretary of State Cyrus Vance. The two-fold mission of Public Agenda is to: help leaders better understand the public's point of view on major policy issues; help citizens better understand critical policy issues so they can make their own more informed and thoughtful decisions.

Rethinking Schools
Rethinking Schools began as a local effort to address problems such as basal readers, standardized testing, and textbook-dominated curriculum. Since its founding in 1986, it has grown into a nationally prominent publisher of educational materials, with subscribers in all 50 states, all 10 Canadian provinces, and many other countries.

Robert M. La Follette Institute of Public Affairs
The Robert M. La Follette Institute of Public Affairs was established by the Wisconsin legislature in 1984 with a multifaceted mission—to engage in instruction, research, and outreach. The institute fulfills this mission by offering both a domestic and an international master’s degree in public policy; encouraging scholarly research on numerous issues that have public policy implications; and offering enrichment and training opportunities to policymakers at all levels of government.
