Carol Alexander

An established business leader and entrepreneur, Carol brings to the ACLU of Colorado 25+ years of experience in the areas of strategic planning, business transformation, operational optimization and change leadership. She holds a degree in Finance from the University of Michigan and is currently the President of Optimize Consulting Group, founded by her in 2001.

Carol has strongly supported the ACLU’s mission for several years. She has a long record of engagement supporting family-based humanitarian causes, working both to assist the unhoused and toward ending violence in the youth community. Carol served on other nonprofit boards, including Project PAVE.

As the Chair of the Board of Directors, Carol brings a wealth of leadership and business experience to support the expansion of the ACLU or Colorado’s reach and impact – furthering the Mission to protect, defend and extend the civil rights and civil liberties of all people in Colorado through litigation, education and advocacy.

Carol and her husband live in Denver and have one son, who is adopted from Ethiopia. She enjoys spending her free time traveling internationally and being outdoors. Carol is a dedicated yogi and certified yoga instructor.
