Marie joined the ACLU of Colorado in 2023, having previously served in development at Chinook Fund and the Colorado Organization for Latina Opportunity and Reproductive Rights (COLOR).

As the Emerging Philanthropy Officer, Marie works closely with emerging donors who are passionate about leveraging their wealth to advance the movement for civil rights and civil liberties. Marie is passionate about abundantly resourcing our social justice movement through building authentic, cross-class relationships.

Marie was born and raised in the southeast plains of Colorado, a descendant of farmers who stewarded the land and water with care. She earned her BA in Psychology and Gender Studies from the Metropolitan University of Denver in 2013. Creativity is a vital part of Marie’s life; she serves on the Development Committee of the Art Students League of Denver and dabbles in ceramics, vintage re-sale, writing, event planning, and any activity that includes MESS.
