Rebecca Bowman is a Legal Intern for the summer of 2025. Prior to joining the ACLU, she previously worked as a Judicial Extern for a Federal Magistrate Judge in the Northern District of Illinois. There, she observed court proceedings and drafted memoranda on different issues. She also worked as a paralegal for a medium complex litigation firm in Chicago.
Rebecca is a rising 3L at Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a BA in African and African American Studies, a double major in American Culture Studies, and a minor in Legal Studies. During her time at WashU, Rebecca participated in the mock trial team and served on various executive boards. At WashU Law, she served as the Social Chair for the Black Law Students Association for the 2024-25 school year.
Outside of work, Rebecca loves attending concerts, traveling, trying new food, and experiencing new things with loved ones. Rebecca is excited to join the ACLU ranks and contribute to the pertinent work they are doing.
