October 10, 2007- School administrators violate state law, constitutional rights by searching students' text messages
Administrators at Monarch High School are committing felonies under Colorado law and violating students’ privacy by seizing students’ cell phones, reading their text messages, and making transcriptions to place in students’ permanent files, according to an letter sent today by the ACLU of Colorado to the Boulder Valley School District Board of Education.

July 19, 2007- ACLU announces agreement to resolve suit against Denver police officer
The ACLU of Colorado announced today a tentative agreement to resolve a lawsuit its attorneys filed against Denver police officer Timothy Scudder earlier this year.

July 16, 2007- ACLU attorneys file suit in defense of Englewood shop owner’s murals
The ACLU of Colorado announced today that its attorneys had filed suit on behalf of Mike Mahaney, an Englewood shop owner whose mural depicting an Alice in Wonderland scene has prompted controversy and citations for allegedly violating the City’s sign code.

June 26, 2007- ACLU sues Colorado Springs police officer for alleged flashlight beating of African American veteran
In a lawsuit filed in federal court in Denver today, ACLU lawyers alleged that a Colorado Springs police officer used his heavy police-issued metal flashlight to administer a vicious beating to the ACLU’s client, Delvikio Faulkner, a young African American who was riding with two other young men in a car that was initially stopped for a minor traffic violation.

June 26, 2007 - ACLU national office files 2nd federal suit againt White House staffer for ejecting Denver residents from Bush event
The ACLU national office filed a complaint against a White House staffer for policies illegally ejecting Denver residents, dubbed the "Denver 3" by the media, from a taxpayer-funded town hall with President Bush, even though they had done nothing to disrupt the event.

May 16 , 2007 - Wrongfully jailed CopWatch volunteer wins settlement
The City of Denver agreed to a settlement that required the Denver Police Department to issue a training bulletin to all of its officers and to provide compensation to a CopWatch volunteer who was wrongfully arrested and imprisoned after simply asking an officer for his business card

April 18, 2007 - Denver High School student wins national ACLU Youth Activist Scholarship
Ryan Brown, a senior at the Denver School of the Arts, won a $4,000 scholarship for her documentary on the life of former Colorado Governor Ralph Carr.

March 15, 2007 - ACLU sues White House staffers for ejecting Denver residents from Bush event
The ACLU filed a complaint against three White House staffers for illegally ejecting Denver residents, dubbed the "Denver 3" by the media, from a taxpayer-funded town hall with President Bush, even though they had done nothing to disrupt the event.

February 12, 2007 - ACLU files suit on behalf of innocent woman wrongfully arrested, jailed, due to Denver cop’s ‘recklessly sloppy’ police work
ACLU lawyers alleged that a Denver police officer’s “recklessly sloppy” police work—which included false statements and crucial omissions in an affidavit the officer submitted to a judge—caused a woman with no criminal record to be falsely arrested and jailed for an incident with which she had no connection whatsoever.

January 29, 2007 - ACLU expands its Denver staff by two
The ACLU of Colorado added two new staffers in January, hiring Development Assistant Caryn Osterman and Communications Associate Erik Maulbetsch.
