Aug 17, 2000 - Colorado Court Strikes Parental Notification for Abortion Act
Recognizing the critical need of young women facing a medical crisis to have immediate access to abortion, a U.S. District Court in Colorado today held unconstitutional a law that would have prevented pregnant teens from getting an abortion unless they notified a parent. The judge struck the law because it lacked an exception for situations in which an abortion is necessary to protect the teen's health.

Feb 4, 1999 - ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Announce New Court Order Suspending Enforcement of Colorado Parental Notice Statute Throughout Colorado
The American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado (ACLU) and Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains announced today that a federal district court judge signed an order assuring that the Colorado Parental Notice Statute will not be enforced anywhere in the state until a final judgment on the merits is issued in the challenge to the law that is currently pending in United States District Court in Denver.

Dec 22, 1998 - ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Challenge Dangerous New Parental Notification Law
BOULDER, CO -- The American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado, along with the ACLU national office and Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, filed suit in Boulder District Court today to prevent the enforcement of Colorado’s Parental Notification Act (Amendment 12). If enforced, this law would require physicians, on pain of criminal and civil penalty, to notify a minor's parents and then wait 48 hours before proceeding with an abortion.
