This lawsuit asserts that a Denver police officer violated the Fourth Amendment by obtaining a groundless warrant for the Plaintiff’s arrest on the basis of an affidavit containing false statements and critical omissions. As a result, the ACLU’s client—who had no criminal record and had never been arrested—was falsely arrested and jailed for an incident with which she had no no connection whatsoever. The lawsuit was resolved with an award of monetary compensation for Ms. Rodriguez.
