Born and raised in New Delhi, India, Ishmeet Kalra immigrated to California to pursue her passion for science, earning a Master's degree in Molecular Biology & Microbiology with a minor in Humanities from San José State University. Since 2008, she has called Colorado home, drawn by its stunning natural beauty and majestic mountains. Through years of active involvement in Douglas County School District, Ishmeet has championed educational equity, STEM education, and evidence-based policies. She volunteers to bring STEM enrichment to underserved schools and remains driven by a commitment to academic excellence, equal access to opportunities, and safe, inclusive environments for every student.
