La defensa de los derechos de las personas privadas de derechos políticos es vital; cuando el gobierno tiene el poder de negar los derechos legales y el debido proceso a un grupo de personas, pone los derechos de todos en peligro. ACLU de Colorado trabaja para defender las cláusulas del debido proceso y de la igualdad de protección consagradas en nuestra Constitución y en la Carta de Derechos, que se aplican a toda "persona" y no se limitan a los ciudadanos estadounidenses. Otros problemas relacionados con los derechos de los inmigrantes en los que trabaja ACLU de Colorado son los periodos de detención prolongados, la aplicación de las leyes laborales a los no ciudadanos y las violaciones de la prohibición de la Cuarta Enmienda de realizar intrusiones sin orden judicial en domicilios privados.
