As the Colorado Legislative Session gets underway, you have an opportunity to join the fight to put a stop to criminalization of poverty in Colorado through policy efforts.

Our partner organization, Colorado Freedom Fund (CFF), is hosting a virtual Municipal Court Convening on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

From 4 to 5 p.m. Representative Javier Mabrey and newly elected Westminster City Council Member Jack Johnson will be joining the convening to discuss updates on the efforts to fight criminalization of poverty at the CO Supreme Court, at city councils, and at the Capitol. CFF will be discussing its priority bill, plus carceral initiatives we expect to have to fight this upcoming year. In the last 30 minutes there will be Q&A for anyone who wants to stick around and dive a little deeper.

Advance registration is required for the virtual event.

ACLU of Colorado is proud to join co-conveners, CFF, El Movimiento Sigue, Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, and Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition in bringing us all together.

Please note: By registering for this event, you will be directed to a third-party website, zoom.us and prompted to enter your information, which may be shared with Colorado Freedom Fund.
