On Thursday, July 31, 2025, ACLU of Colorado filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request demanding information on policies, both formal and informal, that forbid legal observers from taking notes or photographs of court docket details.

Federal Judge Issues Preliminary Injunction; Trump Administration Cannot Use Alien Enemies Act to Remove People from Colorado
On May 6, 2025, a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction prohibiting the Trump administration from using the Alien Enemies Act in Colorado and certifying a class action for all those detained in Colorado.
