DENVER — In advance of SB26-176, a bill named the No Kings Act, being debated in the Senate Judiciary Committee at the Colorado Legislature, sponsors and supporters of the bill will be holding a press conference on the west steps of the Colorado Capitol to explain the facts of the No Kings Act and widely address incorrect claims being made by the opposition to the bill.

Currently, state and local government officials and law enforcement can be sued for constitutional violations under federal law, but that same law does not apply equally to federal government officials or federal law enforcement who infringe on constitutional rights. The No Kings Act would close this accountability gap. It's time for our leaders to defend against government overreach and hold federal officials accountable.
