FTCA Claim Project
The ACLU of Colorado filed three claims under the Federal Tort Claims Act (“FTCA”) on July 29, 2026 on behalf of Fernando Jaramillo Solano and his two children, ages 15 and 12. The claims are based on ICE’s unlawful arrest of Mr. Jaramillo Solano and his children in Durango, Colorado.

ACLU of Colorado v. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement
ACLU of Colorado filed a lawsuit against ICE to obtain additional records regarding the agency’s ramp-up plans to expand immigration detention across Colorado and Wyoming. The government has since produced heavily redacted documents revealing some new information about ICE's plans.
